HO RS-3 Locomotive WM #187 (ATH-2152)

This HO-scale RS-3 diesel-electric locomotive reproduces the ALCO RS-3 in Western Maryland WM #187, a 1,600-horsepower road-switcher from the 1950s. Fully assembled and ready to run, the model mirrors prototype details with accurate, era-correct paint schemes drawn from drawings, measurements, and photographs.

Designed for modern layouts, it features a quieter, more powerful can motor and a DCC-ready Quick Plug 21-pin NEM connector. Sound-equipped versions include onboard DCC with Econami sound and a cube speaker, while LED lighting, see-through etched radiator fans and cab windows, metal grab irons, fine-scale handrails, and McHenry scale knuckle couplers add realism. The heavy die-cast frame, all-wheel drive and electrical pickup deliver smooth performance, with RP25 wheels for compatibility across brands. Minimum radius is 18 inches (22 inches recommended); it runs on DC or DCC, and CVs allow tune-ups or multiple-unit lashups.
