HO RS-3 Locomotive with DCC and Sound, WM #185, is an HO-scale recreation of the ALCO RS-3 diesel-electric locomotive designed to bring authentic mid-century power and presence to a model railroad. This ready-to-run model combines DCC connectivity and authentic sound to deliver convincing operation on both DC and DCC layouts, with the WM road number proudly reproduced on the frame.

A newly designed can motor delivers strong, quiet performance, while DCC-ready Quick Plug technology and a 21-pin NEM connector simplify installation. Sound-equipped variants feature SoundTraxx Econami with a cube speaker and operate in both DC and DCC, with excellent low-speed performance and NMRA-compatible functions that can be tailored via CV changes. Realistic detailing includes metal grab irons, fine-scale handrails, see-through etched radiator fans and cab windows, and a heavy die-cast frame for traction. RP25 wheels ensure smooth operation on standard tracks, and McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers make coupling to rolling stock easy. Fully assembled and painted in prototypical livery, the model is designed to fit 18" minimum curves (22" recommended) for best results on typical layouts.
