An HO-scale Bay Window Caboose from Athearn, modeled on the Santa Fe prototype, recreates the distinctive bay-window design that offered better visibility and safer operation for caboose crews. This fully assembled model is ready to run, making it a natural addition to yards, sidings, or mainline scenes on an HO layout.

The car rides on Barber-Bettendorf swing-motion caboose trucks and features finely detailed end rails and ladders, clear windows, and separately applied smoke jack and brake wheel. Its highly detailed injection-molded body is painted and printed for realistic decoration, while machined metal wheels with RP25 contours ensure smooth operation on most HO track. With body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers, careful weighting, and a minimum radius of 18 inches, it’s built for reliable, authentic performance on a wide range of layouts.
