HO Athrean Bethgon Coalporter with Coal Load (ATH-2300)

HO-scale Athearn BethGon Coalporter with Coal Load is a detailed HO model designed to haul coal on model railroad layouts, faithfully representing Bethlehem Steel’s BethGon coal car with an included coal load for authentic operation.

Constructed with all-aluminum framing and a bathtub-style bottom for added capacity and a lower center of gravity, this car is built for steady tracking in solid unit trains. One end features a rotary coupler to pass through rotary unloaders without uncoupling, while the model includes separate wireform grab irons, etched coupler platforms, a removable coal load, and multiple road numbers. It rides on 36-inch machined metal wheels with RP25 contours, is weighted for stable performance, and uses body-mounted McHenry scale knuckle couplers. The highly detailed injection-molded body is painted and printed for realistic decoration, with a minimum operating radius of 18 inches.
