HO Athearn Bethgon Coalporter with Coal Load (ATH-2303)

HO BethGon Coalporter with Coal Load is a faithful HO-scale reproduction of Bethlehem Steel’s BethGon coalporter, designed to haul coal with enhanced capacity. The car features an all-aluminum body and a trough-style bottom for added carrying power and a lower center of gravity to help it track smoothly in long unit trains. One end is equipped with a rotary coupler to enable through unloading without uncoupling.

Details include separate wireform grab irons and etched metal coupler platforms, a removable coal load, and a weighted body for dependable operation. The injection-molded, highly detailed body is painted and printed for realistic decoration, and the car rides on 36" machined metal wheels with RP25 contours. It uses body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers and offers an 18" minimum curve radius, with multiple road numbers available to create authentic coal-train consists.
