N ATH Bethgon Coalporter with Coal Load BNSF (5) Models (ATH-2305)

Five-model N-scale set of Athearn BethGon Coalporters with coal loads in BNSF livery, designed to reproduce Bethlehem Steel’s Johnstown American coal car and to haul coal in realistic unit trains. The BethGon features an all-aluminum body with a trough-style bottom that increases carrying capacity while keeping a low center of gravity for steadier tracking. Each car includes a removable coal load, a separately applied brake wheel, and a rotary coupler on one end to allow feeding through rotary unloaders without uncoupling.

On the rails it rides on 36" machined metal wheels with RP25 contours and screw-mounted 100-ton roller bearing trucks. The model is weighted for reliable performance and uses body-mounted McHenry scale knuckle couplers. Decorated for realism, it runs on Code 40, 55 and 80 rails, with a minimum radius of 9 3/4 inches, making it a versatile addition to coal trains and yard scenes.
