An N-scale BethGon Coalporter with Coal Load is a detailed model that faithfully recreates Bethlehem Steel’s BethGon coal car as it would appear hauling a long unit coal train. The real car was built by Bethlehem Steel’s Johnstown American Corporation and features an all-aluminum body with a trough-style bottom for extra capacity and a lower center of gravity that helps it track better on the rails. The model includes a removable coal load and a rotary coupler on one end to simulate feeding through a rotary unloader without uncoupling.

Designed for authentic operation on modern layouts, this edition carries features such as a separately applied brake wheel, multiple road numbers, and a removable coal load, plus 36-inch machined metal wheels with RP25 contours. It runs on Code 40, 55 and 80 rail and uses screw-mounted 100-ton roller bearing trucks. Weighted for reliable performance, it uses body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers and a highly detailed injection-molded body painted and printed for realistic decoration. The minimum curve radius is 9 3/4 inches, allowing it to negotiate tight turns on typical hobby layouts.
