N ATH Bethgon Coalporter with Coal Load (ATH-2317)

The N-scale BethGon Coalporter with Coal Load is a detailed model of Bethlehem Steel’s BethGon coal car, designed for realistic coal trains in model railroading. The all-aluminum, bathtub-style body with a trough-style bottom adds capacity and lowers the center of gravity for better tracking, while a removable coal load enables authentic loading and unloading scenes. One end of the car features a rotary coupler to allow trains to pass through a rotary unloader without uncoupling.

Built for authentic operation, the model rides on 36-inch machined metal wheels with RP25 contours and is compatible with Code 40, 55, and 80 rails. Screw-mounted 100-ton roller bearing trucks, weighted balance, and body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers contribute to reliable handling and realistic feel. The highly detailed injection-molded body is painted and printed for lifelike decoration, and the car includes a removable coal load, multiple road numbers, and a separately applied brake wheel. It features a minimum radius of 9 3/4 inches, making it suitable for a wide range of layouts.
