HO Athearn 30K Ethanol Tank Car (ATH-2408)

An HO-scale 30,000-gallon Ethanol Tank Car, this model provides a faithful representation of a modern tank car used to haul ethanol on freight trains. It features a highly detailed injection-molded body and authentic decoration that captures the look of a real railcar on an HO layout.

Detailing is extensive, with separately applied walkways, a manway, outlets and ladders, brake rigging detail, safety rail supports, tank saddles and printed placards. Photo-etched walkways and end platforms, as well as wire safety rails and end handrails, add to the realism. The car rides on 100-ton roller bearing trucks and 36-inch machined metal wheels with RP25 contours, is weighted for smooth operation, and uses body-mounted McHenry scale couplers for reliable coupling. Finished with a painted and printed decoration, it features an 18-inch minimum turning radius to ensure smooth handling on typical HO layouts.
