N ATH 30K Ethanol Tank Car (ATH-2424)

The N ATH 30K Ethanol Tank Car is designed to replicate modern freight cars used in transportation of ethanol. With a capacity of 30,000 gallons, these tank cars are primarily owned by railcar leasing companies and often leased to ethanol-producing companies. They are used for transporting ethanol-related products to fuel dealers, small refineries, and other industries, often appearing in freight trains alongside other cargo.

This model features a highly-detailed, injection-molded body that is painted and printed for realistic decoration. It includes detailed components such as separately applied brake wheels, walkway platforms, safety rail supports, and other intricate details. Additionally, the tank car is equipped with machined metal wheels that operate on both Code 55 and 80 rail. For optimum performance, the model is weighted, and it includes operating scale knuckle couplers along with printed placards for added authenticity. The model’s minimum radius is suited for 11 inches, making it versatile for various layouts.
