N ATH 40' Pfaudler Wood Milk Car CV #543 (ATH-2466)
The N ATH 40' Pfaudler Wood Milk Car, CV #543 is a model inspired by the innovative Pfaudler Company and General American Car Company, which during the 1920s manufactured numerous insulated milk cars. These unique models feature a design suited for transporting bulk milk, utilizing two 6,000-gallon glass-lined tanks along with a brine cooling system that maintained milk at a consistent 38 degrees Fahrenheit. The cars were primarily constructed to emulate passenger rolling stock, often painted in a Pullman green similar to the passenger cars of that era. The Pfaudler Cars were essential for bulk milk transport until the 1950s, effectively capturing a significant aspect of rail history.
This model comes with many exciting features, including screw mounted trucks for improved stability, machined metal wheels with RP25 contours for smooth operation, and weighted construction to optimize performance. It is equipped with body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers for authentic interactions with other rolling stock. With a highly-detailed, injection-molded body that is painted and printed for realistic decoration, this model provides a stunning visual addition to any collection. For layout compatibility, it operates smoothly on tracks with a minimum radius of 11 inches.
