HO ATH FMC 4700 Covered Hopper (ATH-2479)

HO ATH FMC 4700 Covered Hopper is a meticulously detailed HO-scale model that reproduces the FMC 4700 covered hopper used for bulk freight. It’s designed for HO-scale layouts, letting model railroaders assemble authentic freight consists with cars that look and feel like the real thing.

Feature wise, the model includes separately applied brake gear with brake wheel, housing, chain, brake lever, air reservoir, brake cylinder and triple valve; 100-ton trucks with 36-inch solid machined nickel-silver wheels and RP-25 contours for smooth operation on most HO track brands; factory-applied roof walk, roof hatch, end details, ladders, and wire grab irons; see-through etched metal end platforms and roof walkways; body-mounted McHenry scale knuckle couplers; and a weighted chassis for reliable tracking on layouts with an 18-inch minimum radius. It offers two outlet grate variations and, in three-pack sets, unique road numbers. Primed for grime, this model presents an authentic in-service appearance and provides a natural starting point for weathering to add grime and rust.
