HO ATH SW1500 Locomotive ITC #1515 (ATH-2517)

HO-scale Athearn EMD SW1500 Switcher Locomotive, ITC #1515, is a detailed HO model of the classic 1,500-horsepower switcher used for yard and industrial work. Reproducing the SW1500’s bulkier car body and twin exhaust stacks, it brings authentic switching power to a model railroad layout.

Features include a finely molded injection-molded body with see-through radiator grills and cab windows, LED lighting for long life, and a smooth, quiet drive from a high-torque can motor with all-wheel pickup. It is DCC-ready with Quick Plug and a 21-pin NMRA connector, and ITC-specific detailing includes flexicoil trucks, a large fuel tank, frame-mounted handrails, MU hoses and catch boxes, whip antenna, and a 3-chime horn. Some versions include onboard DCC with SoundTraxx Econami for engine, horn, and bell sounds, while DC operation remains compatible when used with DCC. The minimum operating radius is 18 inches, allowing operation on common HO curves.
