HO-scale Athearn SW1500 Switcher Locomotive with DCC and Sound in IHB #1512 livery. This detailed HO model reproduces the General Motors EMD SW1500 switcher, a four-axle diesel built for light freight and industrial switching from 1966–1974. In prototype form, the SW1500 delivered about 1,500 horsepower, and the model captures its compact silhouette with dual exhaust stacks, see-through radiator grilles and cab windows, fine-scale handrails, and LED lighting. It includes an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Econami sound, a single cube speaker, and can run on both DC and DCC layouts, with a 21-pin NMRA connector for easy DCC setup.

On the IHB roadname, this switcher adds prototype-specific details such as flexicoil trucks, a large fuel tank, frame-mounted handrails, a snowplow, Sinclair antenna, MU hoses, and a 3-chime horn.
