HO-scale EMD SW1500 Switcher Locomotive with DCC & Sound in Legendary Liveries VE 2449 is a faithful recreation of GM’s SW1500 switcher, a four-axle diesel built for yard work and light freight during the late 1960s to early 1970s. Built on the same frame as the SW1000, this model captures the switcher’s robust profile with dual exhaust stacks, see-through grilles and cab windows, fine-scale handrails, and a detailed cab interior, all presented in the exclusive Legendary Liveries paint scheme.

Under the hood, modern operation pairs with authentic detailing. It uses a DCC-ready Quick Plug 21-pin NEM interface and a SoundTraxx Econami decoder with a single-cube speaker, delivering engine, horn and bell sounds in DCC (DC operation is supported, with some functions limited). The drive is smooth and quiet thanks to an upgraded can motor and all-wheel drive, with RP25 wheels and McHenry scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible). Extras include printed numberboards, front and rear trainline hoses with silver glad hands, see-through radiator grilles and cab windows, and LED lighting with operating ground lights, all designed to fit a minimum 18-inch radius for versatile HO layouts.
