HO-scale GE AC4400CW Diesel Locomotive, WNYP 6001. This Athearn model is a fully assembled, ready-to-run representation of a modern freight locomotive, designed to bring authentic power and road-number-specific detail to HO-scale layouts.

Featuring illuminated ditch lights, see-through cab windows, multiple cab variations, and factory-applied sunshades, a frame-mounted bell, exhaust stack, brake wheel, rear sand filler, and air tanks, the locomotive also carries refined details such as wire grab irons and fine-scale handrails. It rides on a heavy die-cast frame with a 5-pole motor, all-wheel drive and electrical pickup for smooth operation, while LED lighting enhances visibility. The model is DCC-ready via Quick Plug plug-and-play with a 21-pin NEM connector and uses McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers for reliable coupling. It is fully assembled and ready to run, with a minimum operating radius of 18 inches and a recommended radius of 22 inches for best performance. Road-name variants span NS, CSXT, BNSF, FXE, WNYP, CMQ, GECX and ATH, each featuring road-number-specific differences in dynamic brake intakes, number boards and horns; for example, the WNYP 6001 variant features three dynamic brake intakes and a Nathan P5 horn, while other numbers may use different horn configurations such as the Nathan K5LAR-24.
