N ACF 4600 3-Bay Center Flow Hopper, SOO (ATH12952)

An HO-scale Soo Line 3-Bay CenterFlow covered hopper modeling the mid-1960s era. It reproduces the 4600 cubic foot capacity version built by American Car and Foundry for grain and other bulk loads, a design that uses a rounded CenterFlow body to provide structural strength and enable gravity unloading without a traditional center sill.

Fully assembled and ready to run right out of the box, the model is accurately painted in Soo Line livery and rich in detail. It features three body styles representing early, mid, and late configurations, round or trough hatches, a photo-etched roofwalk, and detailed outlets. The car rides on 100-ton screw-mounted trucks with 36-inch machined metal wheels, uses body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers, and is weighted for smooth on-layout performance. Designed to fit Plate B clearances on typical layouts with a minimum radius of 9¾ inches, this CenterFlow hopper adds realistic bulk-transport detail to grain trains and similar service.
