ACF 4600 3-Bay CenterFlow Hopper Car is a detailed, ready-to-run model of the mid-1960s bulk-commodity hopper used for grain and similar bulk loads. Representing American Car and Foundry’s 3-bay CenterFlow design in the common 4600 cubic foot capacity, this car features a rounded body that provides structural strength and enables gravity unloading without the traditional center sill. The real car was developed to replace aging box cars in grain service and to operate within tighter Plate B clearances on light branchlines and industrial routes.

The model arrives ready to roll, with three body styles reflecting early, mid, and late configurations, round or trough hatches, a photo-etched roofwalk, and detailed outlets. It rides on 100-ton trucks with 36-inch machined metal wheels, uses body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers, and is weighted for smooth performance. Features such as separately applied brake wheels, screw-mounted trucks, multiple roadnumbers, and accurate paint and print add to the realism, while a minimum turning radius of 9¾ inches keeps it compatible with a wide range of layouts.
