EMD F59PHI METX #405 Ready to Run Locomotive (ATH15301)

EMD F59PHI MetX 405 Ready-to-Run Locomotive is a detailed HO-scale model designed to reproduce Electro-Motive Division's high-speed commuter locomotive. This fully assembled, ready-to-run unit is ideal for layouts depicting Amtrak, METRA, and other regional services, and it appears in a Legendary Liveries scheme that pays tribute to classic railroads fans have requested. Note: The paint schemes on numbers 405 and 425 in this line are tributes and are not depicted on real F59PHI locomotives, created to celebrate rail history and meet popular demand.

Inside, LED lighting, see-through cab windows, and McHenry knuckle couplers deliver authentic operation, while a heavy die-cast frame and all-wheel-drive chassis provide solid traction and quiet performance. A 5-pole skew-wound motor with flywheels and a multi-link drive train helps deliver smooth power, and decorative painting and printing add realistic detail with multiple road numbers included. The locomotive is available in non-sound, DCC-ready form or as a sound-equipped model with an onboard DCC Tsunami2 decoder; the sound version operates on both DC and DCC, offers full DCC functions and slow-speed control, and supports MU lashups. It runs on Code 55 and 80 rails and requires a minimum radius of 9 3/4 inches for reliable running.
