N F59PHI, METX #425 Locomotive (ATH15302)

EMD F59PHI Metra #425 Locomotive is a detailed, ready-to-run HO-scale model of Electro-Motive Division’s high-speed diesel, presented in a heritage METRA livery as part of a Legendary Liveries collection. This edition honors Chicago-area rail history and is designed to look and feel like the real locomotive on a home layout, with LED lighting for realistic daytime and nighttime operation.

Built for authentic operation, the model features a heavy die-cast frame, all-wheel drive, and a five-pole skew-wound motor with precise flywheels and a multi-link drive train for smooth, quiet performance. It includes see-through cab windows, McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers, and bi-directional lighting for consistent headlights in either direction. Non-sound versions are DCC-ready, while sound-equipped variants use a Tsunami2 onboard decoder that works on both DC and DCC with full function control, excellent slow-speed performance, and MU lashup capability. Painted and decorated for realism, it also offers multiple road numbers and is compatible with Code 55 and 80 rail, requiring a minimum radius of about 9 3/4 inches.
