HO 50' FMC 5077 Double Door Box Car (ATH15874)

HO-scale FMC 50-foot double-door box car is a faithful recreation of the 1970s-era per diem boxcar built by FMC. Designed for HO layouts, this model adds authentic mid-century freight equipment to a layout with period-accurate decoration.

It features separately applied grab irons, end ladders and a brake wheel, plus a photo-etched cross-over platform. The car rides on 33-inch machined metal wheels with RP25 contours and is weighted for smooth operation. Body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers keep the car properly aligned on HO track, while the injection-molded body is highly detailed and painted for realistic appearance. Minimum turning radius is 18 inches, ensuring compatibility with typical HO curves. In real service, FMC 50-foot cars varied in door configuration to fit customer needs, and this version is finished in the Southern Pacific livery for roster-ready authenticity.
