It features separately applied mud flaps, rubber tires, and comes with either 2 or 4 door rods based on the prototype. Additionally, it offers wheeled or shoe-style landing gear variations depending on the prototype. The Fruehauf Corporation, established in the 1970s and 1980s, was renowned for manufacturing semi-trailers intended for intermodal service. The Z-Van model was designed to endure both road and rail travel's demanding conditions. Originally available in a 40' length, it was later offered in 45', with many 40' units being extended.
