HO 16,000 Gallon Clay Tank Model (ATH16394)

This HO-scale 16,000-gallon clay tank car model is designed for HO model railroad layouts. It reproduces a modern UTLX-designed tank car used to haul clay, with a 286K gross rail load rating, an approximately 111-inch diameter tank, and about 44 feet in overall length. It features a bottom-unloading funnel-flow design and interior lining to keep contents separate on dedicated service and to prevent cross-contamination on a layout.

Detail-rich features include full brake plumbing and rigging (brake wheel, air reservoir, cylinder, triple valve, brake linkage, trainline, and brake rods); separately applied fittings such as nozzles and manways; see-through photo-etched walkways and end platforms; wire platform railings, grab irons, and ladders, plus placard holders and printed markings on the tank body. The model rides on 36-inch nickel-silver wheels with RP25 contours for smooth HO operation, uses McHenry AAR upper/lower shelf couplers, and has an 18-inch minimum radius for versatile layout compatibility.
