HO 16,000 Gallon Clay Tank TILX Model (ATH16396)

This HO-scale model reproduces a 16,000-gallon clay tank car in TILX markings, designed for realistic freight layouts. Based on a 286K-class prototype, the model mirrors a 111-inch diameter tank about 44 feet long, featuring a bottom-unloading funnel-flow design and internal lining to help prevent cross-contamination on real service.

Detailing includes full brake plumbing and rigging, see-through photo-etched walkways and end details, and separately applied fittings such as nozzles, manways, and safety valves with platforms. Additional realism comes from wire platform railings, ladders, placard holders, and printed markings on the tank, while the model rolls on 36-inch nickel-silver wheels with RP25 contours and McHenry AAR upper and lower shelf couplers. Designed for HO-scale layouts, it requires a minimum 18-inch radius curve to roll smoothly on typical tracks.
