N PS-2 2600 Covered Hopper Burlington Northern #430222 Model (ATH17241)

This N-scale PS-2 2600-cubic-foot covered hopper in Burlington Northern livery reproduces a 1960s-era car designed for cement and sand service.

Prototype features include a roof that can be modeled as flush or overhanging to match the prototype, etched metal roofwalks, and factory-installed wire roofwalk grab irons. The model is equipped with McHenry knuckle spring couplers and a weighted undercarriage for smooth operation on N-scale layouts. A carefully applied paint and printing finish captures the look of the real car, and the design tolerates curves with a minimum radius of 9 3/4 inches. The PS-2 2600 cu ft hopper first entered service in the 1960s and was commonly used for cement and sand shipments, occasionally serving as a buffer car when loads were not protected by a bulkhead.
