N PS-2 2600 Covered Hopper DT&I #11101 (ATH17248)

This N-scale PS-2 2600 cu ft Covered Hopper in DT&I livery is a faithful model of a 1960s-era freight car designed for cement and sand service. The replica captures the prototype’s proportions and detailing with authentic painting and markings to reflect its DT&I heritage.

Prototype-inspired details include a roof that can be flush or overhanging, etched metal roofwalks, and factory-installed wire roofwalk grab irons; McHenry knuckle spring couplers for reliable coupling; and a weighted body for smooth, dependable running. The finish is applied for prototypical realism, and the model is tuned to handle standard N-scale curves with a minimum radius of 9 3/4 inches. In real service, PS-2 2600 cu ft covered hoppers were common for cement and sand shipments from the 1960s onward and could also serve as buffer cars when bulkheads were not present.
