N 30,000-Gallon Ethanol Tank CHSX #1 (ATH18033)

An N-scale model of a 30,000-gallon ethanol tank car, CHSX #1, designed to bring authentic freight-car detail to N-scale layouts. It represents a modern ethanol transporter used in real freight service, giving layouts a realistic look and feel for mainline trains and yard scenes.

It features separately applied brake wheel, walkway platform, manway, outlet, ladders, brake rigging, safety rail supports and tank saddles, plus photo-etched walkways and end platforms, wire safety rails and end handrails, and printed placards. The car rides on screw-mounted 100-ton roller bearing trucks with machined metal wheels that run on Code 55 and 80 rail; it is weighted for smooth operation and uses body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers. The injection-molded body is highly detailed, then painted and printed for realistic decoration, and it carries a minimum curve radius of 11 inches. In real-world railroading, 30,000-gallon ethanol cars are common leasing assets and appear in a variety of freight service scenarios.
