N 30,000-Gallon Ethanol Tank CTCX #1 Model (ATH18037)

An N-scale model of a 30,000-gallon Ethanol Tank Car, CTCX No. 1, designed to haul ethanol on model railroad layouts.

It reproduces modern detailing with separately applied brake wheel, walkways, manway, outlet, ladders, brake rigging, safety rail supports and tank saddles. The car includes photo-etched metal walkways and end platforms, wire safety rails and end handrails, printed placards, and screw-mounted 100-ton roller bearing trucks. Machined metal wheels run on Code 55 and 80 rails, and the model is weighted for reliable operation. The injection-molded body is painted and printed for realistic decoration, and it tolerates tight curves with a minimum radius of 11 inches. Body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers provide authentic coupling while keeping couplers neatly out of sight. In prototype service, 30,000-gallon ethanol cars are commonly leased to ethanol producers and appear in large unit trains between refineries and distributors.
