HO GP40-2 Locomotive CSX #6942 (ATH18261)

CSX GP40-2 Locomotive, HO scale, CSX #6942, is a fully assembled, ready-to-run model designed for realistic CSX operations on HO-layouts. It recreates the CSX GP40-2 as it appeared in the 1990s, painted in CSX’s YN2 scheme on former WM/Chessie power, and features distinctive details such as corrugated grilles, dynamic brakes, forward ditch lights, a large fuel tank, and the K5 horn.

On the rails it delivers with a heavy die-cast frame, a five-pole motor with precision flywheels, and an all-wheel-drive, multi-link drive for smooth, quiet operation. The model includes see-through cab windows, Celcon handrails, and illuminated front and rear headlights with ditch lights (and strobes where applicable to the road name), plus separately-applied horns, McHenry scale knuckle couplers, and nickel-plated, blackened machined wheels with RP25 contours. It is DCC Ready with a 21-pin plug and ships with an installed speaker for immediate sound-ready operation, ready to accept a 21-pin sound decoder. A 2600- or 3600-gallon fuel tank and meticulous decoration complete the package, with a minimum recommended radius of 18 inches and 22 inches for best operation on most layouts.
