N 40' Pfaudler Milk Car C&NW #1955 (ATH24025)

N 40' Pfaudler Milk Car C&NW #1955 (ATH24025)

This N-scale, 40-foot Pfaudler Milk Car in Chicago & North Western livery (car 1955) recreates the bulk-milk service that powered dairy shipments on mid-20th-century rail networks.

Model features include screw-mounted trucks, machined metal wheels with RP25 contours, and weighting for smooth operation, plus body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers. The injection-molded body is highly detailed and it arrives painted and printed for realistic decoration, with a minimum radius of 11 inches on curves. Prototype context notes that in the 1920s the Pfaudler Company and General American Car Company built wood-sheathed, insulated milk cars around two 6,000-gallon glass-lined tanks with a brine cooling system to keep milk near 38 degrees Fahrenheit; these cars rode on passenger car trucks and were commonly painted Pullman green, continuing in service into the 1950s.
