N 40' Pfaudler Milk Car Plastic Model (ATH24028)

N 40' Pfaudler Milk Car Plastic Model (ATH24028)

This 40-foot N-scale Pfaudler Milk Car is a detailed plastic model for N-scale model railroading, offering a faithful representation of an early bulk-milk car used to haul milk shipments on era-appropriate freight trains.

Features include screw-mounted trucks, machined metal wheels with RP25 contours, and a weighted body for smooth operation. The model uses body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers and a highly detailed injection-molded body finished with realistic paint and printing. It is designed for a minimum curve radius of 11 inches, letting it run well on standard layouts. Historically, these cars were built in the 1920s by the Pfaudler Company and General American Car Company, featuring two 6,000-gallon glass-lined tanks and a brine cooling system to keep milk at about 38 degrees Fahrenheit, often finished in Pullman green to match passenger cars and remaining in service into the 1950s.
