N Auto-Max Carrier KCS #8102 (ATH24744)

The N Auto-Max Carrier, a KCS designation, is an N-scale model of Gunderson’s Auto-Max articulated auto rack car, designed for model railroad layouts to reproduce how SUVs are moved by rail. In real operation, the Auto-Max carries up to 22 SUVs on three internal ramps, and the prototype measures over 140 feet long and about 20 feet tall from the railhead.

Its features include separately applied brake wheels and brake details, a simulated corrugated roof, full articulation with a flexible diaphragm, safety striping, screw-mounted trucks, machined metal wheels, and a weighted body for reliable tracking. McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers provide prototypical coupling, while the injection-molded, highly detailed body captures the look of the real car. The model is designed to run on Code 55 and Code 80 track with a minimum radius of 15 inches, making it compatible with a wide range of N-scale layouts.
