N Auto-Max Carrier Auto Rack Car (ATH24753)

The N Auto-Max Carrier Auto Rack Car is a faithful, highly detailed model based on Gunderson’s Auto-Max articulated auto rack. In the prototype, this car could carry up to 22 SUVs on three internal ramps, a capability captured in this model for realistic operation on model railroads.

Its design includes separately applied brake wheels and details, a simulated corrugated roof, and full articulation with a flexible diaphragm for lifelike movement on curves. It wears safety striping and rides on screw-mounted trucks with machined metal wheels and McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers. The model is weighted for optimum performance on Code 55 and Code 80 rail and requires a minimum radius of 15 inches, making it a sturdy addition for layout operations.
