N 4-6-6-4 Steam Locomotive D&RGW #3803 with DCC and Sound (ATH25746)

This N-scale Denver & Rio Grande Western Challenger locomotive #3803 with DCC and sound is a ready-to-run model that captures the distinctive 4-6-6-4 articulation of the mid-1940s. It recreates the coal-burning boiler and dual smokestacks that defined this wartime locomotive on the D&RGW.

Built for performance and detail, it features a heavy die-cast frame for traction and a five-pole motor with a flywheel for smooth operation. It includes a full cab interior, see-through running boards and cab windows, and individually applied piping and valves for authentic appearance, along with operating eccentric cranks, directional lighting, and McHenry scale knuckle couplers. Pivoting front and rear engines enable negotiation of 11" radius curves, with a minimum recommended radius of 15" on layouts. DCC-ready Quick Plug connections simplify decoder installation, while sound-equipped versions use a tender-mounted DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound, functioning in both DC and DCC with full control and adjustable CVs (CV chart included).
