HO-scale 60-foot intermodal container designed to model long-vehicle shipments on North American railroads. This marks the first HO-scale release of a 60' container, offered in two updated versions by Athearn (Version 2 and Version 3). The model uses standard 40-foot attachment points and presents a high-cube profile, letting it sit alongside conventional 40' boxes on a well car for realistic intermodal scenes.

Real-world context informs the design: these extended containers were introduced in 2015 for the Canadian market to handle long vehicle combinations and bulky but lightweight cargo. In typical intermodal service they ride on top of a 53-foot well car. The containers were built by Singamas and Dong Fang, featuring trapezoidal side ribs, vertical front ribs, and flat rear doors, with some variants having reinforced rear doors. The HO model faithfully captures these cues, delivering convincing Canadian-era intermodal realism when paired with other HO-scale containers.
