HO-scale Western Pacific SW1500 No. 1502 Ready-to-Run switcher locomotive is a compact, highly detailed model designed for yard and switching duties on HO layouts. It faithfully replicates WP’s late-generation switchers, including features such as flexicoil trucks, a 1,100-gallon fuel tank, a firecracker antenna, sunshades, and a fully detailed cab interior. Fully assembled and ready to run, the model rides on RP25 wheels with all-wheel drive for smooth, quiet operation, and uses McHenry scale-knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible) for reliable coupling, with a minimum radius of 18 inches for flexible layout placement.

Newer versions add modern enhancements: operating ground lights and a redesigned can motor that’s stronger and quieter. DCC-ready variants include a 21-pin plug for quick digital upgrades, while sound-equipped models feature Tsunami2 decoders with dual cube speakers for authentic engine, horn, and bell sounds in both DC and DCC modes, though some functions may be limited in DC. LED lighting improves longevity and reliability, and the model is painted and printed to lifelike WP livery with printed number boards and fine-scale details.
