HO SW1500 Western Pacific #1503 Ready to Run (ATH28655)

HO Scale SW1500 Western Pacific #1503 Ready-to-Run Locomotive is a faithful HO model of Western Pacific’s late-era switcher, designed for yard and industrial switching on HO layouts. The prototype spent most of its WP service years in the San Francisco Bay Area, primarily in downtown San Francisco and Oakland, making this Ready-to-Run replica a natural fit for Bay Area dioramas.

Beyond its convincing exterior, the model carries authentic detailing and operator-friendly features. It includes a detailed cab interior, see-through radiator grille and cab windows, and separately applied wire grab irons, along with MU stands, signal hoses, and printed number boards. The drive uses Flexicoil trucks with RP25-contoured wheels and all-wheel drive for smooth, quiet operation and reliable current pickup. DCC-ready versions use Quick Plug plug-and-play with a 21-pin connector, while sound-equipped variants employ Tsunami2 with dual cube speakers for engine, horn, and bell sounds; new features include operating ground lights and a more powerful, quieter can motor, plus LED lighting. A minimum radius of 18 inches keeps it compatible with many HO layouts.
