Under the hood, a robust 5-pole skew-wound motor with flywheels powers smooth, quiet operation, while all-wheel drive and electrical pickup help maintain steady power on varied track. The model features McHenry scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible), fine-scale handrails, metal grab irons, see-through cab windows, and a see-through etched radiator fan for a realistic look. The injection-molded shell is highly detailed and hand-painted, and RP-25 wheels ensure compatibility with most HO track brands. It is DCC-ready with a Quick Plug 21-pin interface and LED lighting.
