Green Bay & Western RS-3 Locomotive, HO Scale — Ready-to-Run. This highly detailed HO model recreates ALCO’s RS-3 as used by the Green Bay & Western and is fully assembled and ready to run on standard HO layouts. It features era-appropriate cues including a Nathan P-3 horn, partially blanked cab windows, a steam-era bell, and a cab beacon with a flashing light on DCC+sound versions, delivering an authentic on-layout presence with faithful decoration.

Under the hood, the RS-3 incorporates modern improvements for smooth, reliable performance: a new, powerful, and quieter can motor, a 5-pole skew-wound drive with flywheels and a multi-link drivetrain, and all-wheel drive with solid electrical pickup. It rides on RP25-contoured wheels, includes metal grab irons, fine-scale handrails, see-through etched radiator fan and cab windows, and McHenry scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible). DCC-ready variants use a Quick Plug 21-pin connector for easy decoder upgrades, while DCC/sound versions feature Tsunami2 sound with a cube speaker; LED lighting provides long-lasting illumination. The model supports both DC and DCC operation, with NMRA compatibility in DCC mode and a minimum recommended radius of 18 inches for smooth operation.
