HO RTR SW1500 Locomotive with DCC and Sound SSW #2481 (ATH28759)

HO-scale SW1500 switcher locomotive with DCC and sound is designed to deliver authentic yard power for HO layouts. This fully assembled, ready-to-run model recreates the Cotton Belt’s early SW1500s, featuring SP-style lighting with gyralights, a P-3 horn, a detailed cab interior, see-through radiator and cab windows, and a 1,100-gallon fuel tank. Painted and printed for realism, it also carries fine-scale handrails and separately applied grab irons to capture the look of the prototype.

Under the hood, the model uses a new, more powerful and quieter can motor with a multi-link drivetrain and flywheels for smooth operation. It offers all-wheel drive and electrical pickup, plus RP25 wheels that run reliably on most HO track brands. DCC-ready versions use a Quick Plug 21-pin interface for easy decoder installation, while DCC-and-sound models pair an onboard Tsunami2 decoder with dual cube speakers for authentic engine, horn, and bell sounds (operable in both DC and DCC, with some functions limited in DC). LED lighting adds long-lasting realism, and operating ground lights enhance night operation. The minimum radius is 18 inches, and the model ships fully decorated and assembled, with window packaging for viewing and an interior blister to protect it during storage.
