New Haven RS-3 HO-scale diesel locomotive, ready-to-run for HO layouts. This RS-3 faithfully reproduces the New Haven diesel in authentic NH styling, featuring a detailed injection-molded body, see-through cab windows and radiator fan, and period-correct accents such as forward and reverse Blatt horns, a steam generator stack, nose vent and water tank, and a single headlight. It’s offered in two DCC configurations: a DCC-ready model with a 21-pin plug for easy decoder installation, and a DCC-and-sound version that includes onboard Tsunami2 sound with a cube speaker, plus LED lighting for dependable operation.

Designed for smooth, reliable performance on layout, it includes McHenry scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible), RP25 wheel contours, and all-wheel drive with precision gears and all-wheel electrical pickup. A newly designed can motor provides more power with quieter operation, paired with a five-pole skew-wound drivetrain and flywheels for steady, quiet power. Details such as metal grab irons, fine-scale handrails, see-through etched radiator fan and cab windows, and window packaging for viewing bring NH heritage to life. With an 18-inch minimum radius and full decoration, this model arrives fully assembled and ready to run.
