On the rails it delivers smooth, dependable performance thanks to a newly designed can motor that’s more powerful and quieter, plus all-wheel drive with precision gears and reliable electrical pickup. The RS-3 rides on RP25-contoured wheels and uses McHenry scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible); DCC-ready variants include a 21-pin plug for easy digital setup, while sound-equipped models feature onboard Tsunami2 DCC/Sound with a cube speaker and LED lighting. Some functions are limited in DC operation, but DCC mode provides full NMRA-compatible control, with a minimum recommended radius of 18 inches to suit a wide range of HO layouts while preserving the GB&W RS-3 look.
