HO SW1500 Locomotive with DCC & Sound, Rock Island #944 (ATH29763)

Rock Island HO-scale SW1500 switcher locomotive with DCC and sound, road number 944, reproduces GM-EMD’s compact four-axle diesel used for switching in industrial yards and light branch lines in the late 1960s. The model captures a range of prototype details, including Flexicoil trucks, hood-mounted handrails, a large fuel tank, MU hoses, a Firecracker antenna, and the Nathan P-5 horn.

On the rails it features a detailed injection-molded body with lit ground lights, a detailed cab interior, see-through radiator grille and cab windows, and separately applied grab irons. It’s offered in DCC-ready form with a Quick Plug 21-pin NEM connector or in a sound-equipped variant with Economi sound and a single cube speaker, plus all-wheel drive and reliable electrical pickup. Front and rear trainline hoses with silver glad hands, McHenry scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible), LED lighting, and a minimum radius of 18 inches round out the package for authentic yard and industrial operation.
