HO-scale Southern Railway SW1500 locomotive with DCC and Sound, road number 75H, recreates the General Motors EMD SW1500 switcher in meticulous detail. This four-axle, 1,500-horsepower diesel was built from 1966 to 1974 for light branch lines and industrial work, and the model follows the SW1000’s frame to capture authentic proportions and a length of about 44 feet 8 inches. DCC and sound bring the horn, bell, and engine noises to life as it rolls across your layout.

Prototype refinements include frame-mounted handrails, a firecracker antenna, a large fuel tank, and the removal of footboards on both ends, with the model reflecting these details along with Flexicoil trucks and a Nathan P-3 horn. Realistic touches include operating ground lights, a detailed cab interior, drop steps, MU stands, dual exhaust stacks, printed numberboards, and finely molded handrails, plus see-through radiator grille and cab windows. Front and rear trainline hoses with silver glad hands, McHenry scale knuckles (Kadee-compatible), and both DCC-ready (21-pin NEM) and DCC & sound configurations with Economi sound and a single-cube speaker support flexible operation. All-wheel drive with precision gears and all-wheel electrical pickup ensure smooth performance, while RP25 wheel contours help it run on most track, and an injection-molded body with LED lighting completes a durable, highly detailed model.
