HO 40' Offset Coal Hopper with Load, SCL #160587 (ATH33089)

This HO scale 40-foot offset coal hopper with load is a ready-to-run model that adds authentic bulk-coal handling to HO layouts. It features a removable load and a highly detailed injection-molded body that echoes the look of classic open-hopper cars used for coal shipments.

Designed for realistic operation, it comes with factory-applied wire grab irons, stirrup steps, end braces and brake platform. The separately applied brake gear includes the brake wheel and housing, air reservoir, brake cylinder, triple valve and trainline with supports and roping eye. The car is weighted for stable pulling, rides on precision-machined RP25 metal wheels, and uses McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers. Fully assembled and ready to run, it supports smooth performance on HO tracks with a minimum radius of 18 inches.
