N 50' NACC Box for N Scale Trains (ATH3866)

This 50-foot NACC box car for N-scale trains replicates the classic 50' outside-post, insulated plug-door design from the North American Car Corporation in the 1960s. It’s built to represent mid-century freight operations on contemporary layouts and can be decorated to match era schemes.

Designed for authentic operation and appearance, the model features three road numbers, etched metal stirrup steps, a detailed underframe, and Pullman Standard or Superior plug doors. Roof options mirror the prototype with Pullman Standard or Stanray (Superior) styles, and it rolls on N-scale 70-ton trucks with machined 33-inch metal wheels. Body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers provide reliable coupling, and the car is weighted for smooth performance on typical layouts, with a minimum turning radius of 9¾ inches. In service during the 1960s, these cars were widely rostered by many railroads and often wore complex paint schemes, offering rich inspiration for authentic liveries.
