HO 57' Trinity Spine Car (ATH41095)

HO Scale 57-foot Trinity Spine Car is a highly detailed intermodal model designed for HO-scale layouts, reproducing the spine cars used to haul trailers and containers on modern rail lines. The prototype is a Trinity-built car owned by the TTX Company, part of the late-1990s 70-ton RAF30A class, faithfully represented to accommodate a variety of trailers and containers on the layout.

Key features include a precision die-cast spine structure, separately applied brake piping, and fine ladder detail, plus etched metal walkways and McHenry scale knuckle spring couplers for authentic handling. The model rides on 33-inch nickel-silver wheels with RP25 contours for smooth operation on most HO track, and trailer hitches are provided separately in raised and collapsed configurations to suit different display preferences. It is weighted for stable, reliable performance, and ATHEARN’s 40-foot trailers and containers pair well as loads to build convincing intermodal scenes. A minimum radius of 20 inches ensures compatibility with common HO layouts.
