HO F59PHI Locomotive with DCC and Sound in SCAX #887 is an HO-scale model of Electro-Motive Division's high-speed F59PHI commuter locomotive. The original prototype, produced between 1994 and 2001, featured a lightweight, streamlined body and an isolated cab designed for reliable high-speed service. This model brings that history to HO layouts with LED lighting and onboard Econami sound by SoundTraxx, plus DCC-ready operation via a 21-pin NEM connector for easy decoder installation.

Inside, the model uses a heavy die-cast frame, all-wheel-drive gears, and a 5-pole motor for smooth, quiet running, while RP25 wheels and all-wheel electrical pickup ensure steady current delivery on common track. The injection-molded shell is painted and decaled with realistic detail, including see-through cab glazing, radiator and brake-fan details, separately applied horn and wire grab irons, scale handrails, and a snowplow. It arrives fully assembled and ready to run, offering options such as multiple road numbers, an 18-inch minimum radius, and, in its sound-equipped form, full DCC functionality with engine, horn, and bell sounds and MU lashup capability via CV programming.
