HO SD40T-2 Locomotive NECR 3317 (ATH71756)

An HO-scale SD40T-2 tunnel-motor locomotive in NECR livery, number 3317, this model brings a classic prototype to HO layouts. Reproducing the distinctive tunnel-motor design used to improve cooling in tunnels, it offers authentic scale detail and reliable performance for yard, interchange, or mainline scenes.

Designed for realistic operation, the model features fine-scale handrails, see-through cab windows, LED lighting, and separately applied air tanks. The chassis uses all-wheel drive with a 5-pole motor and flywheels for smooth, quiet running and is DCC-ready with 21-pin NEM Quick Plug technology. Sound-equipped versions include onboard DCC decoders with SoundTraxx Econami sounds, delivering engine, horn and bell effects with full DCC functionality when used in DCC mode. Nickel-plated, blackened wheels with RP25 contours provide reliable performance on common HO track, and the chassis can accept a Genesis motor retrofit kit for higher performance. Minimum radius is 18 inches, with 22 inches recommended.
