HO SD40T-2 with DCC and Sound Southern Pacific 1990's #8314 (ATH72165)

An HO-scale Southern Pacific SD40T-2 tunnel-motor locomotive, this ready-to-run model faithfully reproduces the 1990s SP tunnel-motor in detailed SP livery. The six-axle diesel-electric is designed for authentic tunnel‑duty operation and features onboard Econami sound by SoundTraxx with DCC, while also running on DC for simple operation on any layout.

On the outside, it showcases fine-scale handrails, see-through cab windows, LED lighting, and separately applied air tanks, all housed in a sharply detailed injection-molded body. It delivers smooth, quiet performance thanks to a five-pole motor with flywheels and a multi-link drivetrain, plus all-wheel electrical pickup and RP25 wheels for reliable operation on common HO track. DCC-ready with a 21-pin NEM Quick Plug simplifies decoder upgrades, and the SP finish is painted and printed for realistic decoration that can be weathered to reproduce an in-service look. A 22-inch minimum radius is recommended for best operation.
